PTMSC Para Surfing
Núcleo Para Surfing at Portimão Surf Clube
Welcome to Para Surfing in Portimão, an inspiring part of the Portimão Surf Clube (PTMSC) experience where the power of the ocean meets sports inclusion and personal achievement. As one of the most dynamic coastal cities in the Algarve, Portimão’s Praia da Rocha offers ideal wave conditions for both traditional surfing and adaptive para surfing — a sport that allows surfers with physical challenges to ride the waves using adapted boards, waveskis, and tailored techniques designed for accessibility and performance. Para surfing, also known as adaptive surfing, is an internationally recognised discipline that enables athletes with disabilities to compete and enjoy the ocean through classification‑based competition formats governed by bodies such as the World Para Surf League and the International Surfing Association.

These gatherings draw competitors of all levels and bring together the local surf community in an atmosphere of encouragement and respect.
